5340938_sI’m especially passionate about working with Type 2 diabetics and pre-diabetics because I can make such a big impact on the quality of their life. Diabetes is a disease that hits close to home for me. Because of my family history, I am at a highly increased risk. Balancing your blood sugar is the #1 priority and I teach my clients how to do this through simple lifestyle changes.

Diabetes is often missed because the early symptoms can be very subtle. In fact, 1 in 3 people with Type 2 diabetes don’t know they have it. Symptoms of diabetes include unusual thirst, frequent urination, increased appetite, weight change (loss or gain), extreme fatigue, blurred vision, frequent infections, cuts or bruises that are slow to heal and tingling or numbness in your hands and feet.

It’s very important to pick this disease up early and best if you can catch it before it happens when you have what is called “metabolic syndrome” (pre-diabetes). Once you have diabetes you have already increased your risk of heart disease, kidney problems and loss of vision. The symptoms of metabolic syndrome are even more subtle but it is often associated with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, polycystic ovarian syndrome and increasing girth around your abdomen.

If you are at an increased risk for diabetes, the three most important things you can do are:  eat a low glycemic diet (foods that don’t spike your blood sugar), stay active, and take a high quality supplement.

If you are struggling with diabetes or metabolic syndrome, you need to know that early on the disease is reversible. Even just a few small changes in your lifestyle will have a huge impact on your life. I have just released a new program “Blueprint for Success” in which I evaluate your current lifestyle, create a comprehensive personalized health plan, and offer you 2 coaching sessions to get you going and answer your questions. The “introductory” price is only $197. Whether or not you have diabetes, you’ll gain great insight through this program and get a boost towards a healthier you.
