• How to Look Beautiful (it’s not what you think)

Posted on August 20, 2014 by in Skin Health

Healthy Mom & DaughterThe cosmetic industry is huge! Women spend hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of dollars yearly trying to look younger and more beautiful. Famous skin care lines, such as Estee Lauder and Loreal, compete with ‘botox’ and other physical treatments for your hard earned money. Do they work? Sometimes but often the effect is temporary and you have to keep spending more and more money to achieve the same results.

How about looking at things from a different perspective? It’s often said that beauty is only skin deep. But is it? Where does beauty begin?

I would like to start a new movement – that of ‘ageless’ beauty – which I will define as health and well-being. The focus will be on beauty from the inside out. Healthy in mind, soul and body. Listen to the song

Here’s the truth:  The healthier you are, the more radiant and beautiful you will be. When it comes to the physical, your overall health is determined by the health of your individual cells.

Healthy cells = Healthy You = Radiant and Beautiful Skin

Putting more products on your skin and having more treatments may help you in the short term but in the long term, looking after your well-being as a whole will have the most long lasting and noticeable results.

One more thing…Stop looking at the wrinkles and imperfections! You don’t have to try so hard, just starting liking you for who you are. Listen to this song and just BE YOU…

    Story of the Month

A good friend of mine recently shared this story about an experience her hairdresser had. This is a woman who has smoked for many years and as a hairdresser is exposed to many toxic chemicals. She was struggling with several health issues as well as a major skin problem. In the words of my friend:

“My hairdresser just about kissed me today. Lol… She has had horrible psoriasis all over her body for years so only wears long sleeves and pants. A couple months ago she slipped up her sleeve and showed me. She looked like a burn victim; red, swollen, flaky.  I got her started on a basic nutritional regime and she is now wearing short sleeves and shorts for the first time in forever! She’s THRILLED! And telling everyone she knows!!!

For healthy skin, you should take a science grade multi-vitamin/multi-mineral, an omega-3 supplement and use skin care products that don’t contain harsh chemicals or preservatives.
